> Kathmandu Valley Rim Trek Tour III
|

|
|
This is an easy trek taking you along the
rims of the Kathmandu Valley offering distant views of snowy
mountains, and an idea of typical Nepali countryside life
and ethnic culture. It is best suited for those who enjoy
outdoor camping but who do not have enough time for longer
treks into the high mountains. We drive to a trail-head
at Buddhanilkantha and gradually hike uphill for approximately
2/3 hrs to Nange Gumba, a Buddhist nunnery and retreat centre
where we halt for lunch. Then we walk for another 2 hrs
to our campsite below Shivapuri. We continue walking along
the valley rims with great views of mountains to our side.
Camp at Mulkharka. The next day we reach Nagarkot, the best
vantage point for mountain views. After a sunset view over
the Himalayas we drive back to Kathmandu.
