Medicinal herbs, roots, flowers form the basis of Tibetan Pharmacology. In India, the Tibetan Doctors depend on the remote Himalyan foothills and mountains of Himachal, Ladakh, Zanskar and Sikkim etc. for pure and fresh herbs used in their medicines. The herbs, as instructed in the medical tantras, must be collected in the right season at the right altitude, cleaned in the mountain streams and dried in the fresh mountain and highland air to preserve their medicinal curative potency.

Potala Tours & Travels -a joint venture of the Tibetan Administration, is happy to announce a unique journey and adventure into the herbal mysteries of Tibetan medicine by inviting the herbal enthusiasts and adventure lovers into the valleys of the western Himalayan regions of Ladakh, Lahual & Spiti and Dauladhar(Dharamsala) ranges in Himachal Pradesh to join and share in the unique experiences of a traditional Tibetan herbal field trip.

The "Adventure Tour into the Herbal Mysteries of Tibetan Medicines" as conceived and arranged by POTALA TOURS &TRAVELS PVT. LTD, will offer the participants a comprehensive introduction to Tibetan Pharmacology- from the identification and gathering of herbs to their final composition into medicinal powders and pills, besides providing a live demonstration of Tibetan diagnostic and prescription methods. For the success of this unique programme, PTT has acquired the professional service and guidance of a number of skilled and experienced doctors including Dr.(Mrs.) Dolkar Khangkar- younger daughter of one of the most famous lady doctor of Tibetan medicine in recent years, the late Dr Lobsang Dolma Khangkar and popularly known as AMALOBSANG.

This adventure tour will initially focus on MAHRI - ROHTANG PASSES(Manali) and Lahaul valley of interior Himachal and, further into Ladakh region.
